The Dolphin Seaside Sanctuary

A different model: natural conditions, long-term welfare and responsible, science-based care.

As close to the wild as safely possible

A coastal, ocean-based habitat providing lifelong care for non-releasable dolphins. Rather than replicating a controlled facility, the sanctuary works with the natural marine environment.

From display to welfare

Many dolphins in human care cannot be released due to long-term captivity, health conditions or lost survival skills.

Without a sanctuary

  • Limited space
  • Limited environmental complexity
  • Display-based systems

With a seaside sanctuary

  • Increased physical space
  • More natural acoustic and sensory conditions
  • Opportunities for natural behaviors
  • Fewer chronic stress factors from confinement

Five commitments

  • No entertainment use

No performances or public display programs.

  • No breeding programs

Focus on care and welfare, not population expansion in captivity.

  • No direct public interaction

    No swim-with or hands-on programs.

  • Animal-centered design

Layout, enrichment and care built on species-specific needs.

  • Science and monitoring

Continuous monitoring of conditions and animal health.
